It's More Than Just Peanut Butter

When I was going to school before my mission it my life was full of studying, studying, and studying.  Well... I did have SOME fun... but to be honest... Idaho's not really a happening place. Since it was my first time living away from home, I learned to take care of myself, to the point where I didn't ever talk to my parents. In fact the few times I did talk to my parents it was to ask them to send Trader Joe's All Natural Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter... or some assortment of Asian food. I don't think I ever called them just to say hi... in fact i know I never called them just to say hi!
To honest I didn't think much of it, I thought that I'd talk to my parents when i came home, and that I'd just take care of myself until then. Well... my parents still loved me, but I'm pretty sure they wished that I'd have called a bit more often... in fact when I left to go to Germany requested that we Skype every week I was away.
As we Skyped I was able to build that bond with them even though I wouldn't see them for a year. They helped me out when I needed it and then sometimes we just had fun sharing stories. They helped me get through the winter by reminding me it was 70 degrees at home and I just pretended I was right there with them!
How do you think our Heavenly Father feels when we're not talking to him? What are we missing out on? How important is it that we build a relationship with him? Are we just calling on him when we need that jar of peanut butter? President Monson has some great insight... as always!
